Source use practices; 

 For the technical description, we had to ensure we were using credible sources. For my paper specifically, I chose the official Brembo website as the best place to gather information about their history. I believe that this is the only source I definitely found to be credible because I found it slightly difficult to find a lot of credible sources. I was able to summarize the information that was important for the reader to know and leave out information that may bore them. My only issue with citing my sources came from having to cite the sources of the images I included into my technical description. Most of these images came up with a simple google search or came from the same sources I got my information from, but I did not fully understand how to create the citation for them in the APA format. 

Engage in genre analysis;

I dont believe I met this objective because I am unsure what is meant by genre. In class I heard that the technical description itself was the genre however I was still confused. The only way I would have met this objective would be due to the informative content in my description. Based on this, the purpose of the technical description is to inform the audience on how a specific object works, and I was able to do this by explaining the basic components of the braking system and how they all work together to slow the car down. 

Negotiate your own writing goals;

I believe I partially met my writing goals when I was able to meet the minimum requirements of the prompt. I say partially because I could not have been as specific with my object simply because I was focused on the history of the development of the general object, car brakes. I was also unsure if I was supposed to choose a specific car’s brakes simply because if I did, it would not apply to all of my audience. I believe I did meet the audience expectations of being simple enough for readers to understand, defining abbreviations and describing something that most people did not know about the types of car tires.
